Introduction
The National Statistics Council (NSC) is committed to making its website accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. This statement outlines how we comply with accessibility requirements under EU Directive 2016/2102 and the MCA Accessibility Assessment, and provides information on how users can give feedback.
We continually strive to improve the accessibility and usability of our website in line with relevant standards and legislation.
Compliance Status
This website is partially compliant with
the requirements of EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
(WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
The current compliance status is based on a web accessibility assessment
carried out by the Malta Communications Authority (MCA) on 28 May 2025, with
the report published on 25 June 2025.
Non-Accessible Content
The content listed below is not fully accessible for the following reasons:
a) Non-compliance with accessibility regulations
- Some images that do not yet have appropriate text alternatives (alt text)
- Certain colour contrast issues affecting text and interactive elements
- Structural and semantic issues affecting how information is presented to assistive technologies
- In some cases, labels of interactive elements may not fully match their
accessible names
These issues are being addressed following the MCA accessibility assessment and are part of an ongoing Accessibility Remediation Roadmap (ARR).
b) Disproportionate burden
Not applicable.
c) Content not within the scope of the
applicable legislation
Some older documents and legacy content published before the enforcement of the
Web Accessibility Directive may not fully meet accessibility requirements.
Where possible, such content is being reviewed and updated, or accessible
alternatives are provided upon request.
Preparation of this Accessibility Statement

It is based on a simplified accessibility assessment carried out by the Malta
